Crowdmass Favourite Melbourne Places To Go #9
Having discovered bike riding, here are some of our favourite paths.
The Bay Trail
The scenic Bay Trail gives cyclists a peek of Melbourne’s famous Port Phillip Bay. Beginning at at St Kilda Pier, the path snakes towards the historic Luna Park before reaching the bustling Acland Street. Winding past the St Kilda forefront and parks, restaurants and sports grounds along Fitzroy Street, the Bay Trail is a great way to experience the culture of the distinctive St Kilda flair.
The Yarra Trail
Following the Yarra River from the Eastern Suburbs to the City, the Yarra Trail is the keystone of the city’s bicycle system. Beginning from Templestowe, running through the Eastern Freeway and passing through ancient gums and billabongs along the river before ending at Southbank. Sites include the Yarra Bend Park, Docklands and Southbank. It’s quite gruelling, but running along its paths with the consistent view of the city is amazing.
St George’s Road Trail
One of the most unique rides in Melbourne, the path is set in between two lanes of traffic and trams. The path is completely flat and bikes can easily reach speeds similar to the cars travelling alongside the path. Connecting with the Merri Creek Trail, where it meets Dight Falls, it’s quite exhilarating.

St Kilda Beach
It is situated on one of the most picturesque points of the Bay a short distance from the city,is renowned for its soft sandy beaches. Grabbing a beer, and some fish and chips by the side. Perfect way to spend a summer’s day. The whole Esplanade and Fitzroy Street is a pretty cool drive. Love a sandy beach.
Edithvale Beach
While a while out from the City, Edithvale beach provides one of the best backdrops to watch the summer sunset. One of the closer beaches along the coast, With sandbars along the water and with little fish crawling around your ankles, take you chances to grab yourself a good dinner. Love the long drive to Edithvale.
Mordialloc Pier
Grab some squid or some pippi, fishing along the Mordialloc pier at midnight is something we find pretty cool. Sit by the pier with your feet hanging out by the side, a rod in one hand and a beer in the other. Easy cruisy way to spend a summer’s night. Love catching fish.

1. St Ali’s
2. 65 Degrees Cafe
3. Liar Liar
St Ali’s
We love St Ali’s. From their insane breakfast menu, to the crazy coffee roasting machines, St Ali’s is renowned as one of Melbourne’s trendiest breakfast place. Being one of the most renowned names in Melbourne’s cafe scene, frequenting meetings with clients or friends is customary at St Ali’s. Their breakfast menu is wicked, hardly reflective of their store name.
65 Degrees Cafe
We love 65 Degrees Cafe on Exhibition Street. With their insane range of premium coffee blends, regardless of whether we know the origins, flagrant, fresh and aromatic flavours of the beans is guaranteed. Con is a coffee artist and can make the coolest looking coffees. Did you know that 65 degrees is 5 degrees more than 60 degrees? And it’s also the perfect temperature that coffee is served.
Liar Liar
There is only one place where you will love a “Big Fat Liar”. No, it’s not to say that we love deceitful people, but rather, the Big Fat Liar is the signature breakfast item on the menu at Liar Liar in Hawthorn. Having spent considerable amounts of time working around the Glenferrie Road area, Liar Liar is one of our regular haunts.

St Kilda Festival
We love the beach. Strolling down the St Kilda strip during the middle of summeramongst the atmosphere of the St Kilda Festival, doused in the tunes of the bands on stage- it is awesome. St Kilda Festival is one of Australia’s best known and Melbourne’s most loved events, combining St Kilda’s awesome foreshore and featuring some of Australia’s best musical talent.
We love a good music act on a beach.
Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Laughter does not make the world go round, it’s actually the sun’s gravitational pull. However, we love a good laugh regardless. When the Melbourne Town Hall is converted into a giant comedy hub for a couple of weeks, there are some amazing shows which have left us literally ‘rofl’ing’. From the very best local and international comedy acts in venues of all shapes and sizes!
We love a good laugh.
Kew Community Festival
The Kew Community Festival has been our local festival, we love our local businesses and the Kew community celebrates this in spades. With floats, bands, food and even rides, we’ve had a few good days out. Local community groups and businesses showcase the best of the area, and most events are free.
We love community festivals.

The MCG
Melbourne is Australia’s sporting capital, and footy is the centre of our love for sports.
We find that there is truly no better way to spend a weekend than taking a train to Jolimont and screaming your lungs out at the poor umpiring or at the excitement of your team taking the lead in the match. It’s pretty darn exciting
Madame Brussells
Madame Brussels, named after a brothel owner in the 1830s, is a rooftop bar hidden in the city. As most hidden bars in the city, it has its own uniqueness and if you step in there for the first time, you’ll think you have stumbled on the set of an Alice in Wonderland sequel (and then try and look around for Johnny Depp). It’s pretty darn cool.
Shanghai Dumplings on Tattersalls Lane
Mention “dumplings” and “Shanghai” to anyone in any country in the world, and I will assure you that the first place they think about will be “Melbourne”. One of Melbourne’s finest dumplings houses is Shanghai Dumpling Restaurant on Tattersall’s Lane, conveniently found in one of the alleyways in Chinatown. They’re always pretty darn busy.

3rd post!
Enjoying Jazz music at Paris Cat Jazz Club on Hardware Lane.
One of the favourites of the Crowdmass team- We love enjoying a glass of wine and some fabulous jazz. The Paris Cat has established a reputation as one of Melbourne’s premier jazz clubs and performing arts venues. It has launched the careers of many up and coming Australian jazz artists and hosted an array of outstanding International jazz concerts.

Shopping at Camberwell Craft Market on Sundays
Haggling is an artform that requires years of masterful training in isolate foreign countries. Put it to good use at the Camberwell Craft Market. Whether you are looking for vintage clothing, crockery, books or even typewriters, Camberwell Craft Market on a Sunday might be where you find your next precious treasure. We love finding people selling pairs of shoes or those really cool tshirts or jackets. Find your own little treasure.

Breakfast at St Ali’s in South Melbourne
They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so naturally, our hatred of sleep in the mornings means that we never miss it. One of the best places for breakfast is St Ali’s in South Melbourne. Load upon the speciality coffee and the fantastic foods. We love a good caffeine hit.

Double Happiness Bar on Liverpool Street in the City
Double Happiness is one of those secret bars along the awesome alleyways of Melbourne, it’s quite difficult to fit a Crowdmass in there, but it is a very very cool joint for a couple of drinks. Very cosy and there’s plenty of awesome cocktails… man-ly cocktails.
Road trip along the Great Ocean Road
The people who found the Twelve Apostles were either mathematically challenged, or liked to exaggerate things. Despite this, the description of the great views from the Great Ocean Road is never an exaggeration. With spectacular vistas from start to finish, the Great Ocean Road region has some of the most impressive coastal scenery in Australia.
Shopping on Bridge Road
Girls hate shopping. … and pigs can fly.
Bridge Road is renowned for shopping. Or stop at any of the many cafes, restaurants and bars to rest your feet or catch up with friends. Sitting outside, you could catch a glimpse of the landmark MCG and the city’s impressive skyline.
Crowdmass Favourite Melbourne Places to go. #1
We thought we’d give you a little insight into the best places around Melbourne and ourselves while we’re on this project of ours, just some of Crowdmass’s favourite places to go in Melbourne. 3 places every day, because 3 is our lucky number.
Perhaps we might see you there one day, please say hi, we don’t bite, at least I don’t. - Ying
Golden Monkey Bar on Hardware Lane
A fantastic Asian themed bar in the ever so popular Hardware Lane, Golden Monkey will amaze you with the unique decor inside, and coupled with some of the most creative and unique cocktails, including drinks such as the Chinese influenced lychee and lavender martini. There’s no actual monkeys inside, thankfully.

Moonlight Cinemas at the Botanical Gardens
Imagine a summers night, watching the best movies under the stars and a gentle warm breeze grazing your cheeks. Set in Melbourne’s ever so popular Botanical Gardens, a huge Crowdmass is always guaranteed at the showings, with throngs of friends, workmates and couples bringing picnic rugs, beanbags and whatever seats they can muster. Feel free to give a gentle smack to the couple sitting next to you making out on the picnic rug though.
Barbeque at Albert Park Lake
Set under the backdrop of the Melbourne CBD, Albert Park Lake is arguably the best place to go for a barbeque. With a few snags and steaks and some good company, it will be a good day. A lake set in the middle of the city, who would have thought huh. Perhaps not the best place to go for a barbeque when the Formula 1 is held there though…unless you like cars.
What do you guys reckon?
Introducing Crowdmass Credits

Crowdmass is all for a good reward- be it a cherry on top of a soft serve cone, or finding that amazing carparking spot after hours of driving around the carpark, we’re certain you’ll love a good reward too.
To give Crowdmass fans that same joyful feeling, it’s time to announce the rollout of Crowdmass Credits! Yes, after weeks (maybe even months) under the hood, it’s really here!
And the gist?
We figure you should be rewarded for using Crowdmass. Full Stop.
Crowdmass Credits isn’t just a simple referral system where you are rewarded when friends buy. This is a different breed altogether. At the start, it’ll reward you when you least expect it- we’re just a little quirky and different.
For the eagle eyed fan, you might have noticed it already- a small tab displayed next to options under your account.

If you don’t have it yet, it’s probably because you haven’t earned any credits yet. Keep supporting Crowdmass and you’ll see them trickle in.
Those of you that can see this, be amazed when you push that proceed to payment button and feel good about the value you’re about to gain. *big grin*
We want everyone part of Crowdmass to have that rewarding “Crowdmass Experience” and Crowdmass Credits basically adds to that.
We’ll be running more deals every week, which means you, your family and friends have even more choices at how you want to use your Crowdmass Credits.
Until next time, have an awesome one-
Can’t wait.
